One of the more technologically advanced C&D debris-processing facilities in New England is New Bedford Waste Services (New Bedford, Massachusetts), which opened in May 2002. The 47,000-square-foot, $7.5 million plant is one of the largest enclosed C&D recycling plants in the country. The company is permitted to recycle 500 tons of material per day and has capacity to triple that throughput. When the facility is fully operational, the site will employ 45 people.
